Lockdown Chicken

The first time I allowed myself to step outside of my flat, I walked through the park, finding my way to my uncle’s house. The hot sun, the green trees, the blue sky was beautifully refreshing after a dark and ominous 4 months isolating. Chickens scattered the driveway. One chicken posed for the camera, seemingly inquisitive, territorial, defensive. It is a significant time leaving the house, as the Corona Virus had most people in lockdown. The chickens however, throughout the pandemic, were undisturbed. They simply continue to be chickens, without fear or anxiety. It all contrasts with the dark and serious matter of the Corona Virus.
