Ode to

Due to the mass hoarding of toilet paper during the start of covid, overnight toilet paper went from something unthought of and dismissed, to an item to feel gratitude for, while also being a symbol of the times. I found this sudden turn to appreciation for an object interesting. After the mass hoarding was over and toilet paper found its way back onto the shelves it felt right to use it in my art. The turn of appreciation for essential items (and workers) made me want to make shrines out of the everyday.
