Keeping up appearances

Penelope poses for the camera. Her anxiety is through the roof during lockdown. She can’t spend her day in baggy clothes, comfy t-shirts, sheepskin slippers, unwashed tied-back hair, or without makeup! ‘Looking good’, is important. The portrait is deliberately romantic and serene. Penelope wants this look to bring her out of lockdown – underneath she is buzzing with worry. By dressing up, in her own way, she battles against the corona virus.
